IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS
Patient Information:
The practice is continuing to provide a safe number of GP appointments which allows our GP's to work within safe limits of providing health care to all our registered patients.
We understand the difficulties patients are experiencing in having to phone on more than one occasion to request a GP appointment. There are currently enormous pressures on the health service across Northern Ireland. General Practice has been grossly affected by these pressures which has led to the unfortunate circumstance of GP Practices handing back their contracts.
Priory CIC is committed to providing quality care but also a safe working environment for all our staff. Please read on for information about our appointment system and care navigation.
Routine GP Appointments:
Patients who require a GP appointment please contact the surgery between 08:30-9:30am Monday - Friday using our telephone booking system. Our receptionists are trained and very competent to provide care navigation and will ask you some questions about the reason for your appointment request. They will follow protocol and will not make clinical decisions based on the information that you provide.
Care Navigation:
Did you know that Care Navigation uses signposting to help patients receive the Right Care from the right professional at the right time?
This may include seeing our: Physiotherapy team, Social worker, treatment room nurse, being directed under the NI PEARS scheme to the Optician, District Nursing or our Practice Pharmacist.
For all other general queries including the request of sick-line extension, letter requests & treatment room appointments please call the surgery between the hours of 10:30am-12:45pm and from 1:45-6pm. Test results can be obtained between 2-4pm Monday-Friday.
This will ensure that patients who have more serious medical complaints are being prioritised.
Repeat Prescriptions
We would encourage our patients to register for our online services. Alternatively your request for repeat prescriptions can be made through your nominated Pharmacy or by completing the repeat prescription request form that is attached to your prescription. Please leave the form into the surgery post box situated in the foyer at Springhill or Priory Surgery.
Zero Tolerance
Please also note that our reception teams are dedicated and hard working. It is not acceptable to be abusive or violent towards any member of staff in the practice either verbally or physically.
The practice has a Zero Tolerance policy and unwanted behaviour shown towards our staff could result in the removal from our practice register.
Thank you for your co-operation at this very busy time of the year.
