Appointments with a GP 

The Practice is currently operating a telephone triage system for GP Appointments, due to the ongoing pandemic.

If your medical issue is routine, you will be offered the next available routine telephone appointment with a GP.

If you wish to speak to a particular doctor, please be prepared for a longer wait, as these are in high demand. 

If the doctor feels they need to see you face to face, they will arrange to do so. Please be aware that at present the receptionists cannot arrange a face to face appointment with a GP - you have to speak to a GP first. 

The Receptionists may ask you to send in a photograph, for the GP to assess. Please send this, marked with your name and DOB, to: photos.priory.z00252@gp.hscni.net .

If your medical issue is urgent, and you require same-day attention from a GP, we will endeavour to book your appointment for the same morning/afternoon that you call.

Please note that if you are experiencing severe chest pain, shortness of breath, or symptoms of a stroke, that you should telephone 999 immediately. Please keep your phone handy if you are expecting a call. The GPs will only call once, and if the call is missed, you will have to rebook for the next available appointment. 

Appointments can be made by telephoning 028 9039 4545 from Monday to Friday between 8.30 am - 12:45 pm and from 1:45 pm - 6.00 pm.

When telephoning for an appointment you should only use the "emergency" menu option for serious or life-threatening problems such as chest pain, collapse or breathing difficulties.

If you are more than ten minutes late for a face to face appointment, the doctor will be unable to see you and you will need to book another appointment.


Home Visits

Home visits are solely for those patients who are too ill to attend the Surgery.

If you require a home visit please ring us before 10.30 am if possible. This will allow the doctors to plan their rounds and avoid unnecessary delays.

The receptionist will ask you for your telephone number and some information about your condition to help the doctor to prioritise their visits. Please use the service wisely.


Appointments with the Treatment Room 

If you require a blood test, please ensure when booking that the test:

- has already been requested by a GP

- is for the monitoring of a long term condition

- is for the monitoring of a medication

If the blood test has been requested by a hospital doctor, please ensure you bring with you hospital labels with you so that the result will go back to the hospital doctor who requested it.


Appointments with the Practice Pharmacists

We have Practice Pharmacists who are available every day for telephone consultations to deal with queries about medication and side effects.
